Members News

The High season has kept everyone busy with good occupancy rates.  If you experienced any crime attached to your investment or inappropriate visits from government officials over the Christmas and New Year period please let us know, so that the office can keep a record.


Government news

Zanzibar National Business Council -  it was hoped that the Business Forum would take place at the end of 2019. This did not happen but if there are any changes we will inform you, the current period of time in discussion is February 2020.

 The Ministry of Information, Tourism and Heritage will be launch a number of Heritage sites in January.

Office news and Apprenticeship Program

 The office has been quiet with annual leave and public holidays. You will have received your 2020 invoice from Fatma at the end of December and thank all of the members who have paid their fees so far.  When the certificates are printed we will contact you directly with a soft copy and, would be grateful, if you send a member of staff for the hard copy.

In the New Year a new staff member will join the team, and that person will be introduced in the January Newsletter.

The apprenticeship program Training of the Trainers workshop is being organised for February currently and all those involved will be contacted by Adil.

Executive Board member Lisenka Beetstra and ZATI consultant Adil George joined a two day ILO 'Joint Review Meeting' in Arusha in December 11th - 13th to discuss and review the certified apprenticeship program in Hotel Operations.
